Carolyn Sue Designs:
It all began with an idea.
Art has always been something I enjoyed, but never considered it would be something that I could do as a profession. It was just a hobby. I am learning I was wrong.
As a child I took private oil painting lessons. I always liked to doodle and color, but it was never anything I considered could be a profession. I enjoyed school so I went down the trail of the education profession. It was a wonderful profession and I learned so much about life though that career and met many people that have become precious friends. But about 40+ years ago I was introduced to quilting. I knew about quilts, but not quilting. I feel in love. It was art through fabric. Such stunning work. As I became more proficient with quilting I became interested in the fabric and learned about the profession of a surface pattern designer. WHAT!! I knew everything has designs, logos, etc on it, but I never thought about who did that and that those people were making a career with art. Needless to say, I have taken classes and am now using those new and honed skills to create new and interesting things with my art. I am retired from the education profession and now spend much of my spare time on art either on quilting or surface pattern designs. I am blessed that the Lord has brought me on this journey. I hope that you find something encouraging, interesting, inspiring, or just amusing.
All About Me
Who is behind Carolyn Sue Designs?
Carolyn King: daughter, granddaughter, niece, friend, wife, mom, grandmother, teacher, learner, servant of God
I grew up in Oklahoma, but moved to Texas when I married. We have lived in and around the Houston area for 40+ years. Two of my greatest accomplishments was to raise 2 children that are good people. They are kind, thoughtful, compassionate, loving, and are just a good person. They have blessed me with 5 wonderful grandchildren.
I enjoy traveling, seeing the beautiful sights this world has to offer, quilting, creating art and, of course, reading. I love to learn new things and often have several projects and books going at one time.
I have been blessed by the Lord in so many ways that I want to encourage others to find hope. Many people have difficult lives and need someone to give them something to hope for, some joy, and a breath of fresh air. I hope that is something you receive from knowing me.
